OOW249 Para

The OOW249 is one of the most popular belt-fed, air-cooled, fully automatic light machine guns currently deployed by US and international forces. Since the invasion of Panama in 1989, the 249 has proven itself in every major US conflict. When developed, the SAW was found to be the most effective candidate to address the need for more firepower in small units. For over 30 years it has seen every possible condition and environment and continues to come out on top. The OOW249 provides infantry fire teams machine gun volumes of firepower at a weight and accuracy nearing that of a rifle. It fires the NATO standard 5.56mm cartridge from a belt or magazine. The addition of OOW’s patented Select Fire Trigger greatly increases the capability of this weapon.

The OOW249 Para is the paratrooper version of the OOW249 and features a forward rail with detachable foregrip, improved bipod, shorter barrel, and variable collapsible stocks.
